Matthew M. Villmer

Matthew M. Villmer is a graduate of Florida Coastal School of Law, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

During his time in law school, Matthew was the Editor-in-Chief of The Florida Coastal Law Review, a nationally recognized scholarly legal journal. Matthew managed a staff of 60 Staff Editors and 9 Board Members, resulting in the publication of 4 journals throughout his tenure. In addition, he conducted the final edit of over 23 scholarly articles.

Matthew also spent much of his time working in the legal field during law school. He worked as a paralegal for the State Attorney’s Office for the 4th Judicial Circuit, as a law clerk for Camerlengo & Brockwell, a local personal injury law firm, and finally for Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon as a Summer Associate.

In addition to his legal work experience, as a law student Matthew developed a first year teaching curriculum for over 600 first year law students and coordinated the activities of 16 Academic Success Study Leaders. In his final year in law school, Matthew ran a Jacksonville City Council campaign and worked to steer the campaign to victory, garnering the largest voter turnout in Duval County history. As Defense Council for the Florida Coastal Honor Court, Matthew was one of the first to successfully defend several students against expulsion charges, giving them a second chance to pursue their dream of becoming attorneys. Effectively representing children in need through the Guardian ad Litem program earned Matthew the “Above and Beyond Award,” presented by the Jacksonville Guardian ad Litem legal team.

With an acute attention to detail, Matthew focuses his practice in the areas of Contract & Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, and Trial Law.
